CONTINUITY, SPEED, SECURITY OF TRANSMISSION

The role of signal communication is based on doctrinal attitudes and determination, on organization, equipment and employment of the Royal Army, the complexity of the armed struggle, the characteristics of our theater of war and the chain of command. The purpose and missions of signal communications are to provide reliable, continual and secure communications for command, fire control and the other technical combat systems, which give the Royal Army a high degree of combat readiness. To meet its demands, the system of signal communications has to fulfill very severe conditions. It has to be timely planned, organized, established, and able to meet the needs of command and control in peace, national emergency, mobilization in the initial phase of war and its further development. It must have adequate capabilities, to be economic and efficient, to furnish continuity, necessary speed and secrecy of transmitted information. Only the system based on the latest technology, technically well equipped, integrated in the other systems of communications within the realm, well maintained and resistant to all kinds of interference, flexible and suitable for maneuvers can fulfill all these conditions. Besides, the properly trained crews that should man it.

By an organizational build up and improvement of methods of work the Royal Army signal communications fulfills the new requirements of command and control. The unification of the stationary component of the communications system into a unique center enabled its unified planning, distribution and rational use. This includes: the regulation and employment of the unique method of work in stationary centers and focal communications points into uniform control and analysis, better influence on the quality and continuity; the uniform equipment and maintenance of all the communications means and facilities. Such an organization of a stationary communications system provides a high degree of continuity and meets the needs of command and control which can be furnished by the means of communications at the disposal within various elements of the stationary systems. In the mobile centers the emphasis is on the improvement of training (of each individual soldier or whole units), the establishment of communication independently or in conjunction with the stationary system.

The conditions under which the communications personnel operate are difficult and differ from those under which the other units work. Namely, the signal communications units and their elements are deployed all over the territory of the  United Kingdom of Cruiswieck, in all garrisons and at various signal points. The system of communications operates all the time, 24 hours a day. It is so organized that in case of a malfunction of any particular point or center, the communication is diverted to the alternative direction. Particularly difficult is the work on isolated points, where, due to the optical visibility between the relay antennas, the communication points are located mainly on inaccessible mountain peaks. Thanks to the professional competence and attitude of the personnel, the communication in the Royal Army is reliable and stable.

By combining the latest equipment, updating and modernizing the old means of communications, the needs of the Royal Army and the other users have been met successfully. But nevertheless, due to rapid development of telecommunications in the world, the signal communications personnel are in constant need to invest in the further  updating of their capabilities and in the improvement of quality. The improvement of the tactical communications systems, within Special Forces units is focused on their being equipped with the latest radio stations with crypto protection of oral information and highly resistant to electronic interference.
